Traffic Camera Violation Choices

In the next 30 days, you must do one of the following, or a civil judgment will be entered against you in the amount of the fine

Option 1: PAY THE FINE
You will have no points on your license, and the offense will not be reported to the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles. By paying the fine, you waive any right to a hearing or to raise a defense.
  • You can pay online 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Pay Now
  • You may pay over the telephone by calling (216) 475-1900 and choosing option 3, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
  • You can pay by check or money order made payable to the Clerk of Court and mail it to 5555 Turney Road, Garfield Heights, Ohio 44125. Be sure to put your ticket number on the check.
  • Pay in person Monday through Thursday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, and Fridays from 8:00 am to 11:30 am.

Option 2: FILE AN AFFIDAVIT on the form on the back of the ticket or find the Affidavit form online, if any of the following apply:
  • Other Driver - My motor vehicle was in the care, custody, or control of another person. You must provide the Clerk of Court with the name and address of the person who was driving or had possession of the vehicle on the offense date, who may be held liable for the violation. This defense will not be considered by the Court unless you provide the name and address of the party you designate as the driver or person in control of the vehicle.
  • Leased/Rented Vehicle - The vehicle was leased or rented at the time of the violation. The vehicle leasing/renting dealer must provide the Clerk of Court with the name and address of the lessee/renter of the vehicle at the time of the violation.
  • Commercial Vehicle - he vehicle is a commercial motor vehicle, or the ticket was issued to a corporate entity. An agent of the corporate entity must provide the Clerk of Court with the name and address of the person who was operating the motor vehicle at the time of the violation.
  • Stolen Plate or Vehicle - The motor vehicle or the license plates were stolen and were not under your control or possession at the time of the violation. You must provide the Clerk of Court with the name of the police department and the police report number, and attach a copy of the report. This defense will not be considered by the Court unless the police report is filed with the Clerk.

Option 3: REQUEST A HEARING on the form on the back of the ticket or find the form find the Request for Hearing form online
You or the person operating your vehicle at the time of the violation may contest the ticket by filing a request for a hearing with the Clerk of Court. The Clerk shall mail you a hearing notice or email it if you provide an email address. The Clerk will also send a text reminder of the hearing date. Failure to appear at the hearing may result in a judgment being entered against you.

Option 4: OTHER
Ohio law permits only options 1-3, but if you file any other information or request, the Court will set it for a hearing to allow the citing municipality and you to be heard. If you choose not to appear at the hearing, the judicial officer shall rely on the information you provided prior to the hearing.
